I read two books over the summer, The Outsiders and Walk Two Moons. The Outsiders was my favorite out of the two because it had a better story line. The story line was more exciting. It was about two gangs and there life story. I liked the suspense and detail that was in the book. The Outsiders was my favorite book that I read this summer.
There are two books I read over the summer. One book I read was the Last Lecture. This was my favorite book I read because it was life lessons. I enjoy this kind of book because it is not a type of book that is boarding. It was a book that would make you read on and will not stop reading. The second book I read was called The Laughing Policeman. This book was a murder mystery. It was about a murder that happened on a bus and nine people had died. These are the books that I read over my summer vacation.
This summer I read Crank, by Ellen Hopkins, and Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. Crank was my favorite book because the way it was written was very unique. It was written in a poem format; however each page was spread out differently. Also, it was about a girl who was around my age, so I can sort of relate to it. In the book, while the perfect daughter Kristina went to visit her dad who she rarely saw, she grew a more daring and outgoing ego who she called “Bree”. Bree made all the decisions and eventually led herself into a drug addiction and baby on the way. Although I can’t relate to same exact things Kristina went through, I can see how her life can be tough and I enjoyed reading her story.
The two books I read were Where the Heart is by Billie Letts and The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. My favorite book out of these was The Notebook. This is my favorite book because it is a really cute story about 2 people that fall in love. At the beginning, you would have never thought they would be together but in the end they are soul mates. Even with seeing other people, in the end they come back to each other and realize they are meant to be no matter how much they fought and argued. One of the main characters, Allie, was lucky to be able to have Noah. He did so much for her. I think that a lot of girls would want to be in Allie’s position and be able to tell people such a good story about her life with Noah. Despite all the drama, he was there for her in the end. I thought it was just a really good story.
Over the summer I read too books. The first book was called If the Witness Lied. I wasn’t much of a fan of that book. It was long and draggy and took awhile to get started. The second book I read was Fight Club. This was my favorite book. It was very well written and kept my interest.
Two books I read over the summer were Left for Dead and The Lobster chronicles. The book I liked the most was Left for Dead. I liked this book because it tells the true story on the USS Indinisapolis.I liked this book because it kept me guessing one what was going to happen every chapter. I would recommend this book if you like war books.
During the summer I read the books Prom and Cataylst by Laurie Halse Anderson. While both of the books were fast and easy reads I preferred Cataylst. Cataylst was about a girl named Kate she is a very smart high school girl with a 4.0 g.p.a. Kates father is a Minister so everyone thinks that she is a goodie two shoes, but she is determined to prove them wrong. When Kate was younger her mom died of a disease so she is the head of the household. The worst part about Kates school is a bully named terry, terry Is in her senior year as is Kate. Kate strongly dislikes terry so when there is a big fire in Terrys house and terry and her supposed little brother Mikey have to come live with them for a while Kate is furious. If you want to find out more about Cataylst you will have to read this amazing book!
Two books that I read over the summer where The Face on the Milk Carton, by Caroline B. Cooney, and Whatever Happened to Janie? By Caroline B. Cooney. My favorite book that I read was The Face on the Milk Carton. I liked this book more because it talked about how a girl named Janie found a girls picture of a kidnapped girl on a milk carton. She soon found out that the girl in the picture was Janie. Late in the book she drives down to New Jersey where her real parents live with her neighbor. During the book she is stressed about who her parents were and what her real parents are thinking. She wishes she didn’t see the picture on the milk carton and then everything would be find the way it was before. Janie wants to stay with her parents she lives with now.
I read two books over the summer. One was Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, and the other was In Writing by Stephen King. I liked Slaughterhouse 5 better because it was fiction. I prefer fiction books better because they put you in positions that you would never expect. In Writing was a book based on Stephen King’s life and wasn’t too interesting. But Kurt Vonnegut gave me the feeling like I was in the story.
Over my vacation I read two books. The first book was Ghost Recon this book was about a super secret army team and what they did to stop WWIII. This book was by David Michaels and I found it very interesting how he wrote it. I also read Resistance this book was about what would happen during an alien virus invasion. Both of these books are based around a first person perspective and they were both based off of popular video games.
Two books that I read over the summer are The Five People You Meet in Heaven and a story about infectious disease. The book that I liked the most was The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I like this because I thought that it was very interesting. I thought that it was interesting because I like how the main character tries and save some one and in the proceeds he dies and he goes to heaven. As he is in heaven he meets five people from when he is younger.
The two books I wrote over the summer was the Boy in Striped Pajamas, and the Year of the Hangman. My favorite book out of the two is the Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I liked this book because it was about the holocaust. I thought it was interesting because it told the perspective of two boys both the same age with different lifestyles. One of the boys name is Bruno and is the son of an important Nazi officer. Bruno becomes friends with a boy named Shmuel who is a Jewish captive at Auschwitz. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to others.
The two books I read over the summer were The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and That Was Then This is Now. But, my favorite one of the two was The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. That book was more effective to me. This book was about a boy named Bruno who moves from Germany to Auschwitz. There is a Nazi Camp next to their home which their parents do not want them to know that it is there. While he is there he finds out there is a boy there who he finds there whos name is Shmuel. I do not want to give the rest of the book away. You will just have to read it!
The two books over the summer that I decided to read were Iceman by Chris Lynch and Bad by Jean Ferris. My favorite book was Bad by Jean Ferris. I liked this book because it was about a sixteen year old girl who has been convicted for six month, and got sent to a juvenile detention facility for girls. The book was about a girl named Dallas who loved “skating” with her disloyal friends .This “skating “ existed of shoplifting, hot wiring cars, purse snatching, but up in until that day she never thought she’d get caught with a gun. After her “friends” pressured her into holding up a convenience store, her “friends” immediately fled the scene once authorities arrived. Immediately after the incident, Dallas’s Father abandoned her and that’s when her world began to change forever. Once at the rehabilitation facility, she had to adjust to sharing living quarters, many planned schedules, lectures on drugs and sex, and many unpredictable personalities of many people. But throughout all this, Dallas finds nurture more than she had ever received from her bitter dad or not present mom.
Over the summer I read: The Lost Battalion and Free Rider. The first one was about a regiment in WWI that was placed in France and contact was lost with the base of the military for several days. This book was my favorite because it was based on a real event that my great grandfather was in and if he was killed I would not be here today in your wonderful class, you’re my favorite teacher. The second one was about a kid born with one arm who likes nothing more than BMX and his amazing story of him being the best, unfortunately it is fictional.
Two books I read this summer are, “The Breakup Bible” and “Story of a Girl”. I like The Breakup Bible the best because it wasn’t a book that described a fake scenario a fake it actually could have happened. It was about a girl named Jennifer and her boyfriend max broke up with her. She has to try and be nice to him because he is in her newspaper group. She goes to her grandmother’s house and received a book by Dr. Emerson called “The Breakup Bible”. It consists of commandments to help heal broken hearts. My favorite quote in this book is “Friends are as precious as boyfriends. Don’t think of this time with your friends as second rate just because you are not in a relationship.” I recommend this book to girls.
The two books I read over the summer was The Express, and Too close to Home. The book I liked best was The Express. I liked this book because I love sports and this one is about a football player named Ernie Davis. He was the first African American the win the college heisman trophy. This book inspired me to always try my hardest no matter what Im doing. It also taught me to never give up no matter how hard something might be.
